The Pumpkin Project is a new non-profit community initiative for Deep River and surrounding areas. Our mission is threefold: Reduce local pumpkin and plastic landfill waste and disposal costs after Hallowe'en
Feed local farm/homestead animals and support natural large-scale composting
Transform pumpkins into a massive aerial art display with the help of local high-school students (fun opportunity to earn community service hours toward graduation) and local community volunteers
Our community is invited to join in the fun and participate in a number of ways!
Submit Your Design for a chance to see it brought to life with pumpkins at Hill Park on Nov 1, 2025.
Volunteer! There are a variety of volunteer opportunities for everyone who wants to join in! Please contact Dayna at [email protected] for a list of opportunities, or to find the best opportunity to suit your ability.
Raise Awareness! Please help to share announcements and updates!
Donate By Drop-Off! Coordinate with Neighbours! Drop-off your carved or uncarved pumpkins at Hill Park, Nov 1st from 9 AM to 1 PM. Pumpkins must be free from preservatives such as bleach or petroleum jelly, paint, wax, mold and rot and otherwise safe for animal consumption.
Donate By Pick-Up! For those unable to deliver, pumpkins placed at the end of your driveway (in Deep River) by Nov 1st at 8 AM, which fit the above criteria, may be collected by volunteer drivers.
Hope to see you Nov 1st at Hill Park! It's going to be fun!
