Who are we? The Poesers What are we doing? Hosting and producing this new poetry show & open mic called, THE PROTOTYPE. Why is this happening? Well…. *takes a seat and gets comfy with a glass of whiskey in hand* … We are a collective of “Poesers” (poetry + posers ironically combined into a new word) merging communities through interdisciplinary artmaking, performance & poetry through the fusion of poetry with other artmaking mediums. Through our stage, we offer more opportunity for humans of Los Angeles to be seen, heard, and understood with every finger snap. We hypothesize that the microphone is for everyone and anyone regardless of level and skill. Through our shows, we test out that theory.
Want to sing your poetry? Go for it. Want to play an instrument while reciting your poetry? Go ahead! Want to dance and spit a poem in your act? DO IT! This is why we are called, THE PROTOTYPE. Works in progress, music pieces, and storytelling welcomed.
