WHAT: The 3rd ANNUAL PRODIGIES GRAND SLAM is the first ever youth poetry slam in Pittsburg! This is a youth only, professionally judged poetry competition for all Bay Area Youth Poets willing to step to this mic! This event is open to ALL BAY AREA POETS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 14-21! WE ARE LIMITED TO 25 PERFORMER SPOTS!
Come hear some of the best youth poets and emcees/rappers in the entire Bay Area spit one last time before the new year! We feature award winning individual poets, and some of the hottest up and coming musicians in the Bay Area. We also will have special feature artists in the intermission and to close out the show. Don't miss this opportunity to support our young artist community here in Pittsburg! All sales go back to our poets and emcees!

PRICE: PROUD TO PAY: YOU decide what your ticket is worth, YOU choose the price!PRIZES: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive a custom made trophy and 1st-5th place finishers will recieve a cash prize from In My Section. (1st: $100, 2nd: $75, 3rd: $50, 4th: $25, 5th: $25)
EVENT FORMATSCHEDULE OF EVENTS: This is a rough schedule of events. Know that we must be out of the building and
wrapped up no later than 9:00PM!
5:00-5:30 PM: Doors open to public, Poets can stay backstage or mingle until 6:00pm before being seated in the designated areas or going backstage. All Poets must check-in with PGS staff. Poet huddles and order draw will take place
5:30-6:00 PM: SHOW BEGINS, Event and MC Intros, Judges Intro, and Calibration Poet
6:00-7:00 PM: PGS SEMI-FINALS ROUND
7:00-7:15: Intermission feature performance, scores are tallied from semi-finals round, Finals Poets are announced
7:15-8:00: PGS FINALS ROUND, top 10 poets are selected to move onto finals
8:00-8:15: MC guest Performance, Judges deliberate all scores and top 3 poets are decided.
8:15-8:30 Presentation of winners and trophies
8:30-9:30: clean-up and out by 9:00PM
