The Private Diaries of Denis Gibbs: Film Screening and Exhibition on the life of a British Officer in WWII.
About this Event

Denis Gibbs was an officer in the Royal Corps of Signals in WWII, and served in North Africa and Italy between 1943 and 1945 during WWII. During the war Denis kept private diaries of his experiences primarily for his wife Eileen.Denis' family discovered these diaries after his passing. These provide a fascinating and personal insight into the daily life of a British army officer, and offer a unique perspective from which to reflect on the legacies of the War eighty years later.

This event will involve a screening of a short film on these diaries produced by History students at the University of Gloucestershire, as well as an exhibition of other WWII items. There will also be an opportunity to meet the family of Denis Gibbs. Refreshments will be provided.

The event will take place in The Loft at Francis Close Hall Campus, University of Gloucestershire.
