About this Event
Join us on Sat 10 September for a tour that will explore Prittlewell, Southend's historic centre. Starting at St Mary's Church we will head down through Priory Park, exploring the historic landscape and hear the story of the development of Prittlewell. We will visit several historic monuments around the park before heading in to the Prittlewell Priory to explore this incredible 900 year old building. We will then return to St Mary's Church where you can enjoy further guided talks, family activities and refreshments as part of their Heritage Open Day. The tour will last roughly one hour.
Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for the walk and weather conditions, the walk is mostly flat but please be mindful there is a slight incline on the walk back to St Mary's. The tour will begin outside the front entrance to the church and will leave at 10:30am prompt.
There will be two guided walks taking place at 10:30am and 1:30pm respectively, tickets are free but please register your interest through Eventbrite.
