Charleston’s Absent Friends and AtomaCon present “THE PRINCESS BRIDE,” a magical, live shadow cast experience for fans of all ages! Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of this beloved film as our cast brings it to life right before your eyes. You’ll join the timeless tale of true love and adventure as you cheer for your favorite characters, boo the villains, and recite iconic lines along with the cast. With stunning costumes, live acting, and a dash of audience participation, this event promises to be an unforgettable night.This is our first-ever production of Princess Bride and will debut at this year’s AtomaCon (May 4-5, 2024). The screening will be held on day one of the con, Saturday, May 4, at 5:00 PM.
To see The Princess Bride, attendees must buy, at minimum, a single day AtomaCon ticket for Saturday, May 4, as this is when the screening takes place. These are only $20.
However, CAF highly recommends getting an entire weekend of con fun for only $10 more (a weekend ticket)! That’s right, come hang out with us ALL weekend for only $30 total. In addition to Princess Bride, CAF cast/crew will have a vendor table, be featured in select panels, judge the cosplay contest, and more! We can’t wait to hang with everyone.

This Princess Bride-specific reservation is at no additional cost, but will help us ensure we do not overbook the screening. There are only 150 seats for this event, so please buy your AtomaCon ticket and reserve your spot ASAP! These will go fast!
What is a shadow cast? A group of actors who perform a certain film live, while the same film plays in the background. This way, you can watch us or the Hollywood stars we all love so dearly! The acting occurs in front of the movie, with screen-accurate costumes, props, and set pieces. Where we are different from traditional theater is that we are interactive with our audience! We will have audience prop bags for sale, which allow you to interact with the film. We encourage “callbacks” or “callouts,” which are where the cast, crew, and/or audience shout new lines and funny bits that match along with the movie. We will also do many scenes in the middle aisle of the audience.
