Auditions for 'The Prince' at Lace Market Theatre 15th and 17th April.
This is a callout inviting anyone interested in performing arts to consider auditioning for 'The Prince' a 2022 play by Abigail Thorn.
The story is about two trans women who get trapped in a Shakespeare play and while they are trying to escape they discover that one of Shakespeare's characters is also like them but she hasn't realised it yet... and she's kind of in the middle of a civil war right now! 'The Prince' is a fun and challenging project with drama comedy swordfighting and a cast of wonderful characters.
There are 8 parts to audition for. There are 3 parts written for trans women/transfeminine people and 5 parts for anyone who fits the character descriptions 1 female and 4 male. The ages of the characters range between 18-60. Lace Market Theatre welcomes auditionees from the Global Majority and the author of the play states in the introduction to the script that The Prince should never be performed with an all-white cast.
