Dr. Prabhakar is director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and assistant to the president for science and technology. She is the president’s chief advisor for science and technology, in the president’s cabinet, and co-chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). She was director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) from 2012 to 2017 and director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) from 1993 to 1997.
