In this spotlight talk & fireside chat with Meta's AR/VR Director, Mr. Anand Dass joined by IEEE Fellow Dr. Chenyang Xu, we'll delve into the historical milestones, current applications across industries, and the exciting future potential of this transformative technology. As AI continues to advance, we'll explore how it will further enhance AR/VR, creating even more realistic, interactive, and personalized experiences.

Anand has worked in tech for over 20 years. He has experience in developer platforms, consumer marketplaces, enterprise SaaS businesses and AR/VR.

After graduating from MIT, Anand co-founded a virtual desktop company. The company was funded by Y Combinator and Andreessen Horowitz, and it was acquired in 2014. Currently, Anand is a part of Meta's Reality Labs, which makes Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality devices and experiences for the Metaverse. He has led Meta's efforts to expand the content on Meta platforms to verticals such as wellness and fitness, education, creator tools, travel, and retail.

He will be joined in the fireside chat by Dr. Chenyang Xu, a renowned AI technology leader, IEEE Fellow, and Co-Founder of the Silicon Valley Future Academy. Dr. Xu currently serves on the advisory board of Johns Hopkins University’s Biomedical Engineering Department and previously served on the advisory board of UC Berkeley’s Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department (2009–2017). He also held the role of General Manager and Chief Technology Officer at Siemens’ Global Technology to Business Center in Berkeley (2009–2017).
