The Prague Philharmonia was founded in 1994 by conductor Jiří Bělohlávek (1946-2017). Today it is one of the most recognized orchestras: not only within the Czech Republic but throughout the world. Since its 2015/2016 season, the orchestra has been led by the captivating French conductor Emmanuel Villaume. Villaume is also the current Music Director of The Dallas Opera. The orchestra will be joined by the tenacious young Canadian violinist Blake Pouliot, who has established himself as ”one of those special talents that comes along once in a lifetime,” (Toronto Star) and pianist Andrew von Oeyen, who is is highly regarded for his critically acclaimed solo and concerto albums include repertoire ranging from Bach and Beethoven to Debussy, Gershwin, Ravel and Saint-Saëns.
