The Power of community singing is often used for political purposes. Music can be a powerful form of โsoft power,โ a way of influencing others that does not rely on force or might.Our repertoire will include: "Lorena," a popular song with Confederate and Union soldiers during the Civil War; "Put vejini," a Latvian folk song sung during the Singing Revolution in Latvia and "We Shall Overcome," from the U.S. Civil Rights movement.
