About the Speaker:
Helen Patton is an experienced CISO and business leader who has worked in multiple industries transforming security teams and cultures.
She shares security strategies with the security community. Previously she was a CISO at Cisco, the CISO at The Ohio State University where she was awarded the 2018 ISE North American Academic/Public Sector Executive of the Year, and she was an Executive Director at JPMorganChase.
She encourages collaboration across and within industries, to enable better information security and privacy practices. She believes in improving diversity and inclusion in the workforce, and mentors people interested in pursuing careers in security, privacy, and risk management.
She has a master’s degree in public policy and has earned various security and resiliency certifications.
She served on the State of Ohio Cybersecurity Advisory Board, the National Center for Cybersecurity in Manufacturing Advisory Board, and was a founding board member of the National Technology Security Coalition. She teaches security leadership and board engagement to professionals, and “Herding the Cyber Cats” security risk to undergraduates.
Pilot Program:
The Ohio Cybersecurity for Small Business Pilot Program by The Ohio State University, aimed at helping small businesses identify cybersecurity threats, respond to cybercrimes, and develop resilient infrastructure.
Cybersecurity: Thinking Globally, Working Locally Series
The Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development and The Ohio State University at Mansfield are collaborating on a fall 2024 speaker series designed to broaden the region’s awareness of development strategies to confront cybersecurity challenges while growing alongside our defense partner, the 179th Cyberspace Wing. Representatives from the 179th Cyberspace Wing will be present at each event to share information about the new mission.
