About this Event
All Levels are welcome to attend this two hour exploration of breath in asana and pranayama! Breath is at the foundation of yoga. In this workshop, we will dive deep into the powerful connection between breath and movement, exploring how our puraka (inhalation) and rechaka (exhalation) can create space, release tension, and enhance our practice.
Through mindful exploration, we’ll focus on how conscious breathing not only supports your physical postures but also deepens your awareness and presence in the moment. You’ll learn how to connect more deeply with your breath during your asana practice, with the goal to develop a sense of ease in each posture.
This workshop will also introduce you to foundational pranayama techniques, including Ujjayi (victorious breath) and Viloma (segmented breath), both of which can be used to regulate energy, calm the mind, and improve overall well-being.
What to Expect:
- Guided practice of asanas with a focus on breath awareness
- Insight into how puraka and rechaka can release tension and enhance movement
- Introduction to Ujjayi and Viloma pranayama techniques
- Practical tools to integrate breath awareness into your everyday yoga practice
- A deeper connection to the subtle energy that breath brings to each posture
By the end of the class, we hope you’ll feel more grounded, centered, and aware of how your breath influences both your body and mind. Take this newfound breath awareness with you into any yoga class, and experience the profound impact it can have on your practice and your life.
