About this Event
The Power of Music and the Swift Effect: Feel, Heal and Connect Through the Eras!
“So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it / You’ve got no reason to be afraid.” ("You’re on Your Own Kid," Taylor Swift, 2022.)
Music makes us feel by evoking emotion or a memory of nostalgia from a joyous or sad time in our lives. Music helps us heal by lowering anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress. And music each other us with each other by creating unity and camaraderie. Experiencing music will touch your humanity, bringing us in union with ourselves, each other, and the Divine.
In celebration of the powerful impact of the “Taylor Swift Effect” and her Eras Tour concert movie which premiered on October 13 last year, we will hold a unique workshop exploring themes of feeling, healing, and connection through Taylor Swift’s greatest hits, collaborations, covers and instrumentals!
Whether you are a Swiftie or not, we will spend a relaxing and enjoyable evening of hatha yoga, meditation, and sound healing with the influential power of music!
About Ashley:
Ashley was first introduced to yoga by taking a free class while attending San Francisco State University. She studied jazz, contemporary, ballet and ballroom dance and her teachers incorporated yoga poses during their warmups and stretches. Since then, Ashley has taken many classes and workshops to discover various styles of yoga such as vinyasa, hot yoga, yin, restorative, aerial and acro-yoga. After a major dance injury resulting in chronic knee pain for several years, Ashley sought treatment from Western Medicine with little to no progress. As a result, she turned to complementary and alternative medicine and tried different mind-body therapies including hatha yoga, witness consciousness and mindfulness meditation, Reiki energy healing and Ayurveda. She discovered that her physical and chronic ailments began to heal once she turned her healing journey inward, aligning with her heart and higher purpose. She hopes to share the internal alignment and Heart Wisdom teachings she learned from the Body Temple Yoga Method so that her students could also live from an open heart and thrive in a healthy body and mind! Ashley completed her Head to Heart 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Alliance accredited Body Temple Yoga School in San Jose, CA and is a CMA (AAMA) in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, certified in BLS (Basic Life Support) by the American Heart Association, certified in Breathwork from Yoga Alliance Approved Continuing Education, and is certified in Level One of the Usui Reiki System of Natural Healing.
