About this Event
The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is pleased to return to Oslo Innovation Week (OIW) on Wednesday, Sept. 25, to host the panel "The Power of AI: Tools for Defending Human Rights" in partnership with Katapult and Digital Norway.
Dictatorships strategically leverage AI to consolidate and perpetuate their power. But now human rights activists are countering this by developing their own AI-driven tools to expose abuses by authoritarian regimes. Panelists include Ilaria Carozza, senior researcher at PRIO (Peace Research Institute Oslo), Dr. Klement Ruey-sheng Gu, representative of Taiwan to Sweden and Norway, and Silvija Seres, AI-expert, mathematician and investor.
Together, they think deeply about the potential use and abuse of the power that comes with AI. The conversation will be led by Jørn Haanæs, strategic advisor at the Oslo Freedom Forum.
The discussion will be followed by an after-work hour with drinks and light food, where participants can network with the Oslo Freedom Forum community.
