About this Event
In this talk, Dr. Mara Mather, Professor of Gerontology and Psychology at the University of Southern California, will share compelling evidence that emotional well-being often improves with age. Drawing on more than two decades of research, Dr. Mather will reveal how older adults tend to focus more on the positive and less on the negative compared with younger adults — a surprising shift that helps explain why many people become happier as they grow older, even amid life’s challenges.
Mara recommends the book The Secret Life of the Grown-up Brain: The Surprising Talents of the Middle-Aged Mind.
Organized by USC gerontology postdoc researcher Martina D'Agostini.
