About this Event
💕 The Pollinator Matchmaker Walk
A Valentine’s Day Guided Nature Hike
Love is in the air—and on the wings of bees, butterflies, birds, and bats.
Join The Pollinator Shop for a special Valentine’s Day nature walk where we’ll play matchmaker between pollinators and the plants that depend on them. Along the trail, we’ll explore how flowers and pollinators have evolved together, how some species are perfectly matched while others are more flexible, and what happens when these relationships are disrupted—and how we can help repair them.
This guided hike is relaxed, educational, and welcoming to all—whether you’re celebrating romantic love, self-love, friendship, or simply your love for nature.
What to expect:
- A gentle, guided walk at a conversational pace
- Stories of plant–pollinator partnerships and coevolution
- Interactive moments where participants “match” pollinators with their ideal plant partners
- A deeper appreciation for the relationships that sustain our ecosystems
- We meet at the flag pole in front of the nature center ahead of the hike.
Who should attend:
Nature lovers, gardeners, couples, singles, families, and anyone curious about pollinators. No prior knowledge required.
What to bring:
Comfortable walking shoes, water, sun protection, and curiosity.
This is a free community event—registration required so we know how many matchmakers to expect. Please note there is a $3 admission fee to the preserve.
Come fall in love with pollinators and the plants they support. 🌸🐝
