The Poets‘ Sounds kommen aus einem Niemandsland, das keine Grenzen kennt: Sie sind sowohl Literatur als auch Musik, wechseln nicht nur in einem Atemzug die Sprache, sondern können sie auch neu erfinden. Mit einem Wort: Sie sind ein Experiment, das sechs internationale Autorinnen und Autoren zusammen mit dem SprachKunstTrio sprechbohrer wagen. Dieses Experiment feiert in Berlin seine Premiere, bevor es auf Tour durch Europa geht.
Das Programm des Abends ist zweigeteilt: Während die sprechmusikalische Aufführung den Höhepunkt bildet, kommen im ersten Teil die anwesenden Autor*innen mit Lesungen aus ihrem literarischen Werk selbst zu Wort. Die unterschiedlichen Sozialisationen und Schwerpunkte der Autor*innen (Literatur, Performance, Theater, Bildende Kunst) haben – bei gleichen formalen Vorgaben – zu sowohl abwechslungsreichen als auch eigensinnigen Ergebnissen geführt. Das Spektrum ist breit gefächert. Es umfasst Hochpolitisches wie die Situation der Bootsflüchtlinge auf dem Mittelmeer (Mare Monstrum) und globale Migrationsbewegungen (Ode to the Walking Class), beinhaltet aber auch eine Annäherung an das Phänomen des Echos (ricochet rikoschett) oder ein auf lautlich-gestische Qualitäten setzendes Sprechstück (Rakas Hupsu) und schließt mit einer Reflektion über Pronomen als gesellschaftlich aufgeladenes Thema (They) sowie einem absurd-amüsanten Performancestück (Drei Eier).

The Poets‘ Sounds come from a noman’s land that knows no borders. They are literature and music combined; they don’t just switch from one language to another in the same breath, but reinvent language itself. In a word: they are an experiment which six international authors and the SpeechArtTrio sprechbohrer dare to undertake together. This experiment will celebrate its premiere in Berlin before going on tour through Europe.
The programme of the evening is divided into two parts: the speech-music performance is the highlight and will form the second part of the evening. The first part will feature the authors themselves reading their texts. A group of authors with differing artistic backgrounds and emphases (literature, performance, theatre, visual art) all working under the same formal guidelines led to varied and highly distinctive results. The spectrum of the pieces is broad. They encompass strong political topics, for example the passage of refugees across the Mediterranean by boat (Mare Mostrum) and global migration patterns (Ode to the Walking Class). They also contain representations of echo (ricochet rikoschett), a spoken word piece focusing on phonetic-gestural qualities (Rakas Hupsu) and conclude with a reflection on pronouns as a socially charged topic (They) and an absurd and amusing performance piece (Drei Eier).
