With the Housing Budget the STO forced to be restored, Scotland will build an additional 1900 Council houses. Given the appalling and escalating housing crisis this however is a drop in the Ocean. That's why The Scottish Tenants Organisation are hosting Alex Neil, Scotland's greatest housing minister to explain how we can build 200,000 Council houses in 5 years.
In any big campaign organisers are forced to ask "Where does the money come from?" Under devolution the answer, sadly, is often the UK Treasury (good luck with that).
however has found a way AROUND this financial log jam. We CAN here & now build a housing revolution, and bring modern secure homes to hundreds of thousands of Scots currently in inadequate, unsafe, costly housing or experiencing the injustice of homelessness.
