Learn the tricks to making your very own delicious pies with expert baking team of Honeypie Cafe and Bakeshop!
Held inside our Honeypie Bakeshop Kitchen inside our cafe, , our very hands-on classes will guide you through a variety of different aspects of pie making and give you a peek into the life of a bakeshop. In each class you will make your own treats to take home. There will be lots of room for questions and answers during each class so come with all of your crust conundrums and filling inquiries . Classes are approximately 2-3 hours and are limited to 12 people. Classes are designed for ages 14+. Class requires that you stand most of the time and work at a table in a working professional kitchen. If you need an accommodation to attend please let us know, we can make adjustments to our set up.
This special pie class is taught by Honeypie Bakeshop, founder and Chief Executive Pie Officer, Valeri Lucks. We will learn Valeri's favorite Thanksgiving pie - Pecan! This class is a hands-on lesson in making a blind pie crust and baking the most decadent pecan pie for your holiday gatherings. We will make the dough for the crust and learn how to blind bake your crusts for crispy crust bottoms. From there we will learn the method for making excellent, silky pie filling and the many variations that can be made to make your Pecan Pie uniquely yours (bourbon, anyone?)
At the end of class you will have one (1) - 9 inch pies to take home. Pie is freezable once fully cooled if you want to save it for the holiday!
Tickets for class includes all of your ingredients, an heirloom recipe with tips and tricks, your finished pie and a drink ticket for the bar good for a tap beer, well cocktail, wine or any NA beverage.
(Please note, we often have long wait lists for our pie classes. Tickets to class are non-refundable if you cancel without more than 72 hours notice. If you need to cancel within 72 hours of class, you are welcome to email us, and we will offer your spot to a person on the waiting list. If it is taken by someone waiting, we will refund your ticket. You are also welcome to give your ticket to a friend and they can attend in your place.)
