About this Event
Learn the tricks to making your very own delicious pies with expert baking team of Honeypie Cafe. This fun class is taught by Honeypie's Co-Founder and Chief Executive Pie Officer, Valeri Lucks.
Lucky for us, the winter month of January brings us in to peak citrus season. In this class we will we learn a shortening based pastry crust and the technique of "blind" baking for the most crisp of pie crust bottoms. We'll learn a versatile lemon curd filling - with the option of using Meyer Lemons (a Winter treat!) and/or traditional lemons. We will finish with a lesson in meringue, how to make it and how to top a pie with it. You will go home with one completed 9" Lemon Meringue Pie!
Held inside our Honeypie Bakeshop Kitchen inside our cafe, Palomino, our very hands-on classes will guide you through a variety of different aspects of pie making and give you a peek into the life of a bakeshop. In each class you will make your own treats to take home. There will be lots of room for questions and answers during each class so come with all of your crust conundrums and filling inquiries .
Tickets for class include a tap beer, well cocktail, glass of wine, or NA beverage of your choice - all of your ingredients, a printed recipe with instructions, and your finished treats!
Classes are approximately 2.5-3 hours and are limited to 12 people. The Palomino kitchen and bar is open before class and during class serving drinks and our full dinner menu.
