About this Event

Learn the secrets to making your very own delicious pies with Honeypie Bakeshop's Lead Baker Brooke Ogierman.

Held inside our bakeshop kitchen at our sister cafe, Palomino, our hands-on pie class will guide you through a variety of different aspects of pie making and give you a peek into the life of a bakeshop. In each of our classes you will bake your own pie(s) and treats to take home. There will be lots of room for questions and answers during each class so come with all of your crust conundrums and filling inquiries. Classes are approximately 2.5-3 hours and are limited to 12 people. Class requires that you stand most of the time and work at a table in a working professional kitchen - please let us know if you need any kind of accommodation to attend and we will do our best!

This session is a hands-on lesson in making classic butter dough and our very popular Door County Cherry Pie. We will cover the how-to's as well as what pitfalls to avoid and the tricks to making a flaky, perfect butter crust. You will make your own dough, roll out your crust for one - 8" pie. We will provide you with our cherry filling (and the recipe for home!) and then we will assemble the pies and learn how to make beatuiful lattice tops and tops. We bake the pies during class (approximately 45 min bake time), leaving lots of time for questions and answers. In the end, you will have a delicious pie to take home to show off your new pie making skills.

Tickets for class includes all of your ingredients, your finished baked goods, a recipe with tips and tricks and a drink ticket for one (1) tap beer, well cocktail, glass of wine or NA beverage from our bar.

(Please note, we often have wait lists for our pie classes. Tickets to class are non-refundable if you cancel without more than 72 hours notice. If you need to cancel within 72 hours of class, you are welcome to email us, and we will offer your spot to a person on the waiting list. If it is taken by someone waiting, we will refund your ticket. You are also welcome to give your ticket to a friend and they can attend in your place.)
