In 1979 an unassuuming little space in the bowels of the Merrion Centre became Le Phponographique. Frequented by Members of bands like The Sisters of Mercy. The mission and soft cell as well as countless members of othe influential alternative bands. It soon became a haven for for people who were seen as weirdos or misfits. It was a place where they could feel safe.It is well documented that on May the 4th 1985 ( 40 years ago to the day ), THE CLASH played a gig there. even back in the mid 80s Le Phonographique was a place to be seen
You can expect to hear punk, post punk, new wave, goth, new romance and alternative rock.Original Phono DJs will entertain you with the best alternative dance floor fillers that would have been played at the club in the
80's.
