The Philomathean Art Gallery is pleased to present a one-time viewing of Mary Reid Kelley’s You Make Me Iliad, followed by a Zoom Q&A with the artist and her collaborator Patrick Kelley.
Mary Reid Kelley is a contemporary artist known for her short, black and white films. She has had exhibitions at the Hammer Museum, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston to name a few. Her video work has been reviewed in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Vogue, The New Yorker, Artforum, Frieze, ARTnews, and Art in America. Mary Reid Kelley is the recipient of the 2011 Rome Prize, the 2013 Louis Comfort Tiffany Award, and the 2013 Guggenheim Fellowship, and she is a MacArthur Fellow.
Mary Reid Kelley and Patrick Kelley currently have a show up, Mary Reid Kelley and Patrick Kelley: Blood Moon, at the Fabric Workshop in Philadelphia.
You Make Me Iliad will screen promptly on Monday, November 8th at 5:30. The Philomathean Society is America's oldest continuously running literary society at the University of Pennsylvania located on the 4th Floor College Hall.
