The improvisational collective Light Upon Blight, led by Jeff Cedrone and frequent collaborator Peter Riccio, will be performing their 10th annual Halloween live score on Sat., Oct. 25, at Best Video Film & Cultural Center. The show starts at 8 PM and the cover is $10. This year's film is the classic 1925 version of "The Phantom of the Opera," starring Lon Chaney.Always led by musician Jeff Cedrone (guitar and analog synthesizer), this iteration of Light Upon Blight also features Peter Riccio (drums), Chris Serapiglia (keys, bass), and Ben Hecht (bass).
Writing in 2004, the critic Roger Ebert observed, "It is the idea of the Phantom, really, that fascinates us: the idea of a cruelly mistreated man going mad in self-imposed exile in the very cellars, dungeons and torture chambers where he was, apparently, disfigured in the first place."
Costume wearing is welcomed, even encouraged.
