THE PEOPLE AND THE LODGE - INDIGENOUS DIGITAL ART EXHIBITION 💐This collection of artists interprets dance and the lodge in bright new ways. Often seen in tourist art and mass-produced imitations, these symbols are reclaimed here with cultural specificity. The land is connected to the lodges, the dancers and to the sky through cultural iconography and contemporary perspectives. This important connection is layered beautifully unique ways, allowing the voice the artist to shine through.

This exhibition brings together artists from across Treaty 7 who all share practices rooted in tradition, cultural identity, and connectedness to the land. The Indigenous Digital Art & Illustration program started in 2023 to showcase digital work being created by Indigenous artists.
The artists and The City of Calgary’s Public Art program is proud to collaborate with The Bows to bring these stories to Calgarians.
