The Pawn Project is a youth initiative of the nonprofit Shenandoah Valley Chess Club. It aims to help youth in grades K-12 grow from pawns into powerhouses!
The Pawn Project is proud to welcome this month’s special guest: David Holcomb
David is a longtime chess champion with over 30 years of experience and a lifetime membership in the U.S. Chess Federation. As a teen, he was ranked second in the entire state of Texas and has even defeated a National Master. He’s competed in tournaments around the world, including the famous Reykjavik Open in Iceland—and he once played a game completely blindfolded!
