About this Event
The Patrol Search Warrant was created to teach patrol officers and detectives how to write their first warrant. Students will be taken, step by step, through the fundamentals of search and seizure. The focus will be on writing a basic search warrant covering situations commonly encountered on patrol and in straightforward detective investigations. Multiple examples of search warrants will be presented throughout the class, including warrants for guns, drugs, and a basic warrant based on information obtained from social media.
POST certified Plan NA.
Prior attendees have said the following about the class:
"The class was outstanding... I wish I would have taken it sooner. My guys can’t wait to write their first search warrant. You explained the process very well and made it easy to understand." LAPD Gang Sergeant
"I feel that it should be a requirement for every deputy in patrol, or maybe a patrol school training day, to go through this class so they have a better understanding of what they can and can’t do." LASD Deputy
