About this Event

In this inspirational two-day workshop, Mark offers valuable lessons for increasing courage, resilience, and insight in periods of major change and challenge. Drawing on time-honored teachings from Buddhism, Stoicism, and nondual philosophy, he guides you through a series of illuminating Writing to Awaken practices to help you maintain emotional balance regardless of external circumstances, accept the inevitability of change, and maximize your well-being using time-honored philosophical principles.

The journey we share now as human beings is one of profound self-discovery. We can sense the rumblings in the atmosphere and know that our world is rapidly changing. While these shifting winds can be sometimes scary, tumultuous times can also spark growth — and thriving — when we learn to confront our fears, practice ‘not-knowing’, and cultivate the art of uncertainty.

“Trying to deny that things are always changing,
we lose our sense of the sacredness of life.”
— Pema Chodron

The Path of Uncertainty will help you:

  • Recognize impermanence as a blessing
  • Release anxiety over the past and future
  • Recognize identity as a fictional construct
  • Utilize the “wisdom of insecurity”
  • Let go of what you cannot control
  • Befriend and neutralize your demons
  • Practice beginners mind and not-knowing
  • Accept and love the life that you have

Known for his insightful questioning, and supportive mentoring style, Mark brings decades of experience as an author, teacher, and seeker to his mind-opening work with students. This supportive and inspiring workshop will take place at the Stanley Park Ecology Society which is housed in the Stanley Park Pavilion. It's a lovely and quiet space for kind of reflection and you'll be surprised by how much psychological and spiritual progress can be possible in a single weekend of deep inquiry, writing, and connecting with other like-minded souls.

Writing to Awaken has helped thousands around the world in reaching their creative and spiritual goals, and it would be great to have you with us!
