Doors open at 7pm, The Oversteppers featuring Davina Jackson play two sets from 8 - 10 PM.The Oversteppers, a reggae band from Central Virginia, bring together a dynamic mix of talented musicians from various bands and genres in the Charlottesville area. The group includes members from well-known acts like Guano Boys, Wild Common, The ‘77z, The Cows, Positive Collective, Sisters and Brothers, and the Ragged Mountain String Band. Renowned as one of the region’s premier reggae bands, The Oversteppers have headlined major venues, captivating audiences with their vibrant island and roots music.
The band’s lineup features Davina Jackson (lead vocals), Gabe Gavin (bass), Chris Leva (guitar, vocals), Jim Gagnon (percussion, didgeridoo, flutes), Robinson Hubbard (drums, vocals), and Brandon Collins (keyboards). Together, they deliver an eclectic mix of reggae, ska, and world music.
Frontwoman Davina Jackson is a powerhouse vocalist whose style spans soul, New Appalachian, bluegrass, folk, and gospel. With her commanding voice, she has an impressive background, having sung backup for the legendary Wailers and toured with icons like Toots and the Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, and Burning Spear.
