“We all came out from Gogol’s ‘Overcoat,’” it has been said.About this Event
The OVERCOAT, a short story by Nikolay Gogol, is perhaps the best-known and most influential short fiction in all Ukrainian/East European literature.
“We all came out from Gogol’s ‘Overcoat,’” it has been said. Although published in 1842, the short story still raises questions that challenge us even today.
The story will be read in English and Ukrainian by Yuliia Samoilenko, an illustrator and artist, and Eugene Bondarenko, a digital artist. Both are from Kyiv, who found common ground in creativity. Tickets for the event are free.
