Visiting the City of Design as a tourist? Studying at one of Dundee's outstanding academic institutions? A couple looking to get memories captured in Dundee at some of its iconic attractions? Or just love having your photo taken and love Dundee?
Dundee is changing, and the city is a vibrant place full of iconic attractions including the V&A, Dundee Train Station, Tay Rail Bridge, Tay Road Bridge, Slessor Gardens, Whale Sculpture, City Quay, Caird Hall and The McManus, among many others. With the E-Sports Arena and Eden Project to come in the coming years, the city is going to change beyond all recognition.Matt Hooper provides professional photography at each stop on the tour as well as giving you a little bit of knowledge about our great city.
The tours begin by meeting in City Square, with shots outside the Caird Hall and around the Square, before heading over to the iconic Desperate Dan Statue for some playful photography.We head up Reform Street to The McManus, where we get creative with the steps, and the Oor Wullie sculpture, before nipping across the road for some Beano and Courier fun outside the DC Thomson building, in the heart of Journalism land.
Then we amble along Meadowside, headed for the Seabraes Viewpoint via South Ward Road, South Tay Street and Nethergate. Here you will see a spectacular view of the Dundee Waterfront open up, and it is a spot with a variety of creative photoshoot possibilities.It's now time for a break, so we can head to DCA Dundee Contemporary Arts for a drink and a snack (optional).
After some refreshment we head down towards the Waterfront, with several key locations on the tour situated here. We start with the stunning Dundee Train Station exterior, followed by an amble along the waterfront to an iconic view of the Tay Bridge, before heading back towards the RSS Discovery and V&A Dundee.
By now you have surely had a Whale of a time, and it is time to visit the Whale Sculpture on the Waterfront, before heading across the road to Slessor Gardens. Our journey is nearing its end, now we head back along the waterfront to the unique colourful pillars of the Tay Road Bridge, before ambling along to the City Quay.
To complete the tour we pass by the fantastic graffiti area on Mary Ann Lane, before turning onto Seagate and walking back to City Square, with optional photoshoot spots along the way. What a tour! All still for ยฃ65 per person . Tours now last 3 hours, and are bookable each day at 9am and 3pm
