The OPEN STAGE- A FREE Performing Arts Holiday Workshop Event! Calling all young people aged 12-18 years!
These winter school holidays, headspace Port Macquarie, Out Loud & Proud, and Home Cafe at Roto House present ‘The Open Stage’- a fun-filled, ‘come & try’ performing and creative arts event.
No experience necessary, this event is all about doing something you’ve always wanted to but didn’t have the opportunity or access to. Meet new friends, learn new skills and ignite your creative flair!
LGBTQIA+ Friendly – All abilities welcome.
Whether you’re a bedroom dancer, an aspiring actor, or simply curious about the arts, this event promises inspiration, growth, and unforgettable memories.

Thursday 18th 1pm-5pm workshops
Friday 19th, 1pm-5pm workshops
Friday 19th, 6pm-8pm - Showcase Night
Location: Home Cafe - Roto House, Port Macquarie
Cost: FREE including food, resources & facilitation.

What to Expect:
>Make Up Workshops: Enter the make up of drag queens, drag kings and cosplay fanatics. This Make Up workshop will teach you the makeup basics to create your own character.
>Acting and Improv Sessions: Dive into the world of theater! Learn acting techniques, improv games, and scene work. Express yourself on stage and discover the joy of storytelling.
>Circus Skills Workshop: Learn how to clown about and perform impressive circus skills.
>Spoken Word & Songwriting: Always wanted to try rap, poetry or songwriting? Learn how to express yourself with words & if you already play an instrument turn those words into lyrics.
Showcase Night - A public event where family, parents, carers and community members are invited to attend this fun, casual evening where participants are encouraged to share their new skills on the 'open stage'.
There will be FREE face painting + Food & Beverages will be available for purchase on the night by Home Cafe at Roto House.
