The group, Kenny Vance, Johnny Gale, Ladd Vance, Jimmy Bense, keyboardist Chip Degaard, and Tony Gallino on drums, redefine oldies with vocal authority and freshness. As exemplified by their signature song Looking For An Echo, their material is influenced by the music of the 50s and 60s, but they consistently bring a unique and musically sophisticated point of view.Jimmy Clanton’s song Just A Dream, became a national hit and Jimmy became a huge star, almost overnight. Just A Dream was followed by many popular recordings including: Another Sleepless Night, Go Jimmy Go, and his huge smash hit, Venus In Blue Jeans.
The Passions’ impeccable harmonies and Jimmy Gallagher’s impassioned lead put the group’s hit song, Just to Be with You, on radios across America. Released in August 1959 on Sol Winkler’s Audicon label, Just to Be with You was a top 20 hit in many eastern cities and it charted nationally, rising to number 69.
The Dubs have earned their place in Rock & Roll history, many times over. Originated in Harlem, New York, by still current member, Cleveland Still, they have been singing together since 1957. Their first hit Don't Ask Me To Be Lonely took the East Coast by fire.
