About this Event
Ever attempted to read The Odyssey? Couldn’t find the time to read all twenty-four books? Found it too hard to understand because the ancient Greeks focused on the odd tidbits? Don’t worry, we’ve got you.
The Odyssey is one of history’s great epics, something everyone should experience at least once. Come and see the entire story simplified, without the need to have read previous stories. With the help of shadow puppetry, watch us recreate Homer’s original great epic in the style of classic Greek vases.
In this classic piece of storytelling, we’ll help you explore the journey of Odysseus as he returns from the ten-year Trojan War to reunite with his beloved wife Penelope and son Telemachus. Trying his best to keep himself and his men safe as they cross the great oceans, venture into the underworld, and encounter the likes of gods, cyclopes, witches, and sea monsters.
Be prepared for strong, blunt language as we do away with the lengthy monologues and give you this story in a language you’d use while out with your mates at the pub. No mess, no fuss — just a good story. To you, from us.
