Set in New York in the 1980s. Olive and her girlfriends are enjoying Trivial Pursuit night in Olive’s messy apartment when Florence arrives having been dumped by her husband. Olive invites her to become her room-mate. Olive and Florence have very different personalities, Olive is untidy and unconcerned about the state of her apartment, Florence is obsessively clean and tidy. Olive’s easy-going outlook on life soon clashes with her room-mate’s, testing their friendship to the limit. When Olive organises a double-date with the Costazuela brothers, their differences come to a head and sparks fly.
