Carl Elliot (MD PhD), professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Minnesota, will discuss his recently published book, The Occasional Human Sacrifice with Jonathan Crane (PhD), Emory Center for Ethics.

Dr. Elliot's book is an intellectual inquiry into the moral struggle that whistleblowers face, and why it is not the kind of struggle that most people imagine. It discusses shocking cases of abusive medical research and the whistleblowers who spoke out against them, sometimes at the expense of their careers. It includes discussion of the whistleblowing case that Dr. Elliot mounted against his own employer, the University of Minnesota.
