Known for his zany, slapstick comedy, Jerry Lewis has it on full display in this 1963 movie. Awkward, inarticulate and clumsy, Professor Julius Kelp is hopeless when it comes to women. Desperate to impress one of his students, he concocts a potion to turn himself into a suave man, out of which emerges his alter ego, Buddy Love. But the clock is ticking and he has to win her affections before the potion wears off.Jerry Lewis, directs, co-writes and stars in this film which is a parody of the book, “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” The film also stars Stella Stevens, Del Moore, Kathleen Freeman, Howard Morris and Elvia Allman.
Described as one of Lewis’ most memorable movies, it was selected for inclusion in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.
