The award-winning Northeast Performing Arts Group will present their 43rd annual summer production "THE WIZ" Dansical for two performances on Friday, August 19, 2022, at THEARC Theater located at 1901 Mississippi Avenue, S.E., Washington, D.C. 20020.
“The Wiz”, tells the story of Dorothy’s journey through the land of OZ, a magical world where she meets people who need the same things youth need in the world today to survive, a heart, brain ,and courage. Throughout her journey the characters in Oz lead her to believe that all she needs to get “Home” is to “Ease on Down the Road” and “Meet the Wiz”. Dorothy realizes that everything she was searching for was always “HOME”. This dansical is told through the eyes of children through dance, voice, and spoken word. Come be educated, entertained, and inspired by performers ranging from ages 3 through 25 years of age.
Performances will be held on Friday, August 19, at 11:30 a.m. (for the general public, summer camps, seniors, and city officials), and is $10 in advance/$15 at the door (groups of 15 or more must RSVP on or before Monday, August 12), and 7:30 p.m. evening performance/$20 in advance and $25 at the door.
