About this Event
Bob Funck & The Cardboard Diamonds
Bob Funck delivers an eclectic brew of americana folk-rock with irresistibly melodic hooks and lyrical magic. Balancing a deft, artful flat picking style with a tornado of percussive, rhythmic, high energy guitar strumming, Bob takes the audience on a roller coaster ride of emotive energy. His album Waiting for The Rain offers ballads of loss, love, and loneliness, upbeat socio-political eruptions, and anthems of personal survival that cannot fail to strike a chord with anyone who has struggled and failed but keeps trying.
Brother Kent
Brother Kent is Durham-based singer/guitarist Kent Nickerson. Driven by Nickerson’s measured songwriting, their first EP “Absent The Glory” tours the American sonic tradition, as well as the landscape—from the moonshine-slur of small town melancholy, to the crowded aloneness of the insomniac city, and all the open highways that connect the two.
Rock ‘n roll road songs, barnyard stomps, funky folk, and spacey laments are complimented with locomotive rhythm and scenic guitars—sometimes sweet, sometimes screaming.
Equal parts The National and The Band, it’s Indie-edged Americana with storytelling always at the heart.
Did you know?
The Night Rider in downtown Raleigh, NC is a DIY/Starter Venue! Which means? The bands booked at our venue DEPEND on your kindness and generosity in the form of Tips/Donations (cold hard ca$h; we like to pay bills, too, bud) just like your favorite BarWitch.
The Night Rider provides patrons with the opportunity to leave a donation on your bar tab in the event you don't carry cash (because who does that anymore?). Or buy some merch as 100% of merch sales go to that band directly.
Nobody likes working for free. If it was a barrel of monkeys we would pay You. Thank you in advance for helping us keep the party going.
