Our second iteration of The Next Space with IBA will explore ways that residential design can rise to modern challenges, increasing quality of life for individuals and contributing to a more sustainable society.

The Next Space: The Adaptive Home is an iterative think-tank that results in a whitepaper that redefines how we conceive, inhabit and make use of space across key sectors. Attendees formulate new concepts aimed at increasing human wellbeing while reducing impact on the planet. The event’s ambition is to compile a set of guidelines for the future of spatial design within a 5-year period.
Furthering our mission to form a framework for spatial design in which people and the planet can thrive, Madrid’s edition of The Next Space will bring together stakeholders from all corners of the industry.
Over the span of two days, attendees will work together to carve out the future of residential design through the pillars of Identity, Community, Sustainability and Wellbeing. Insightful talks are set to guide participants along this process, covering everything from agile spaces customizable to personal needs and design’s role in tackling epidemic loneliness to developing self-sufficient, ecological systems and creating wellbeing-oriented environments.
Visits to partner showrooms and project sites will provide context into innovative initiatives already in place surrounding the adaptive home.

While we invite all stakeholders from designers and architects to developers and executives with a vested interest in residential design, The Next Space: The Adaptive Home is limited to a maximum of 100 people to optimize the participation-based experience.
Tickets provide access to keynotes and makeathons, and include lunch and refreshments.
