About this Event
Bringing together jazz lovers and jazz musicians since June'23, The Newton Jazz Jam is hosted at Moldova Restaurant and Cafe. It runs every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 7pm-10pm, and lets you enjoy jazz music no matter your level of knowledge, and offers musicians the opportunity to play and improvise.
Come join us: listen, hang out, eat and drink in this warm, inviting, no-pressure atmosphere - and if you're a Jazz Musician, come sit in and play! MC'd by sax player Chris Pitts and bassist Richard Hale Shaw, the event is hosted by restaurant owner Artur Androvic.
The house band features Chris Pitts, Richard, Alexei Tsiganov (piano) and Gillian De Lear (drums).
With excellent Eastern European food, Moldova is the perfect place for dinner, drinks, and jazz. A modest cover charge applies. Whether you're there to listen or perform, bring your instrument and join us! (Piano, drum kit and bass amp are on-site; bring your instrument to sit-in. Guitarists, bring an amp, please.)
The Newton Jazz Jam 7pm-10pm. Kitchen open until 9PM. Bar open until 10PM.
REMINDER: This event has a modest cover charge.We provide a platform for local musicians to perform, and strive to pay fair rates in order to support the bands and their efforts. The cover charge helps us continue putting together entertaining and diverse lineups, and is solely used to pay the bands.
