About this Event
Formed in 2005 as an off-shoot project between three Minneapolis-based musicians and friends, The New Standards has grown into a globe-spanning adventure—filling theaters and clubs around the world and spawning several CDs, videos and cartoons, as well as dance and theater projects that have charmed and delighted an ever-multiplying legion of faithful fans.
The trio will perform their unique jazz take on pop, punk and classic rock hits as well as songs from the American songbook at 7:30 pm Friday, Nov. 15. It may even be close enough to Thanksgiving for a holiday song or two.
The New Standards are pianist Chan Poling, of the iconic Minnesota punk band The Suburbs; bassist John Munson, of the hitmaking rock band Semisonic; and Steve Roehm on the vibraphone.
E-tickets will be available for $20 (plus fees) at 10 a.m Friday, Oct. 4 on Eventbrite. Paper tickets will be available for $20 (plus fees) at Globe News in Superior and Zenith Bookstore in West Duluth. Tickets will be available at the door for $25. Doors at 6:30. Music at 7:30.
