12.00 – 13.30 Labour market: Soft skills, employers' expectations and the possibilities of the school. The changing labour market and soft skills that the school should develop. The discrepancy between the

expectations of employers and the competences taken from the school: responsibility vs. the performance of instructions, creativity vs. taking tests, cooperation in a group vs. accounting for the individual achievements of the student. Soft (transversal) competences are highly desired by employers, but the recruitment advertisements for VET graduates are dominated by the requirements relating to hard competences + having experience that a young person does not have. That is why it is so important to engage business in educational activities: patron classes, admitting pupils and students to internships, contact with specialists and the possibility of practical verification of the acquired knowledge.

Moderation: Joanna BOCHNIARZ, General Director, CIE
