About this Event
Book your ticket for the National Creative Writing Industry Conference 2021 , a full day of events for aspiring writers to gain insight into the publishing industry and advice on how to excel in their practice. Featuring:
- A keynote speech from acclaimed debut novelist Caleb Azumah Nelson
- 'The Paths of Northern Writers', a panel discussion with writers Kya Buller, Désirée Reynolds and Richard Smyth
- A choice of two workshops – 'Self-editing Your First Draft' with Sarah Schofield or 'Finding Your Form' with Jenn Ashworth
- 1 x one-to-one meeting with an agent to either pitch, or seek advice on, your work-in-progress (please clarify upon sign-up)
If you are looking for one of our (limited) bursary tickets for Greater Manchester residents or underrepresented writers, please apply by contacting [email protected] who will provide a promotional code for these tickets if you are eligible. Ticket details here: https://ncwindustryday.weebly.com/tickets.html
Both workshops will be limited to 30 attendees on a first come first served basis (split into two halves of 15 on the day). If one workshop is full when you book your ticket, you will need to attend the other.
When selecting your three genre choices, please make sure you have at least two different options. Please do not choose three of the same genre. You will be contacted and asked for a second choice is this occurs.
You will be asked whether you want to pitch a final manuscript, or just have an informal chat/get advice on your work-in-progress.
Attendees will be emailed their timetable and all relevant information the week of the conference.
Refunds will only be possible up to 7 days before the event date. Please note that a refund fee will apply.
