W elcome to the Boyne Valley Trails September Walking Festival.
Join Author and Mythologist Anthony Murphy on this guided exploration of the UNESCO world Heritage site of Newgrange. The great monuments of Brú na Bóinne - Newgrange are well-known, but less well known are the myths and legends associated with these magnificent monuments.
Anthony Murphy of Mythical Ireland has been writing about the myths and monuments for over 20 years and will bring a wealth of knowledge on this tour of the stories associated with this legendary passage tomb.
Please not e that this walk is not suitable for young children. We will be capturing content as part of the festival.
Things to note:
Meeting point is the Brú na Bóinne visitor centre.
W alk will proceed from there to Dowth monument, where we we learn about its archaeology and mythology. We will then walk to Knowth where we will have a brief stop, this is your opportunity to grab something from your packed lunch and use toilet facilities. After exploring the Knowth monument we will finally walk to Newgrange where from the public road we will discuss the many myths and legends of the Boyne's most famous monument.
T he walk will aim to be back at the Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre by 5pm, car park closes at 6pm.
