Ranger Maxene Van Damme is an informal educator with a background in conservation and visual communications. Maxene has contributed to captive breeding programs, improved quality of life standards for captive species, and developed conservation education programs, interpretive materials, and community outreach initiatives in zoos and aquariums. Passionate about connecting people with wildlife and inspiring stewardship, Maxene now serves as a ranger with Tennessee State Parks at Booker T. Washington State Park, where their mission is to connect communities with their own native species and natural spaces.
