The Mystery Drama of our lives
Rudolf Steiner’s fourth and last mystery drama – The Souls’ Awakening – was written and performed just before the First World War broke out. It ends on a warning note. The world was standing at the brink of an uncertain future. His intended fifth, six and seventh mystery dramas were never written but there have been several creative attempts at imagining and writing the fifth play. In my talk and workshop, I will be asking the question: Are we not perhaps living through th Fifth Mystery Drama in our lives today?
We will take the fourth mystery drama as our basis to look at the spiritual challenges faced by the characters portrayed, as they attempt to bring their spiritual striving into their daily lives and - unique to this drama - into the workplace. We will then explore these dynamics in relation to the situations we find ourselves in today in our personal, inter-personal, institutional and societal lives. Together, we will put together the elements of the mystery drama we are living today.
Some themes we will explore are:
- Identifying the working of adversarial powers in our lives
- Recognising the karma of the dynamics at play within our relationships and communities
- Working with karmic knots Experiencing our soul forces as helping guides
- Discerning true and false spiritual paths
- Stages of spiritual development
- We will explore these themes through presentation, drama exercises and
- Conversation
No prior experience of the mystery dramas is required.
