We will explore a combination of the following;
~Musical structures; such as rhythm, song-form, harmony, melody, intervals and improvisation through the dancing voice and singing body
~Your voice; ways of connecting with, expressing with; colours/shades/textures/text/tone/pitch
~Movement rituals/scores/structures and improvisation
~Structured meditations and somatic practices to connect with body, voice, breath, sound, silence, stillness and movement
~Responding to who and what comes with us on the day, imagination, nature and emergent scores/structures for play and inquiry
~Responses, song-versations, song-poems and creative conversation

Numbers strictly limited.
All abilities welcome. Come as you are; whether a shower yodeller, non-singer or professional musician. *Possibly of interest to educators, workers in the community sector, artists, therapists, choristers and anyone curious about connecting to their body and voice in creative and nourishing ways.

Or shared room accomodation available in Newham for $20-40 per night. And train pick ups by arrangement.
*Kyneton Bushland Resort is 4km out of town
*Bring- Water bottle, lunch/dinner and note book. Snacks and tea provided all three days (please notify by July 1st with any dietary requirements)

The Musical Body has been in-development since 2003 and is an embodied, musical, co-creative, emergent and meditative group process for people who want to develop their awareness and/or artistry of/with their body, voice and music. The Musical Body Process supports the reduction of the fear of making mistakes, developing physical, mental and emotional resilience, deep musical, collaborative and creative singing/voice orientation, learning of the fundamental building blocks of music through body and voice, developing of your capacity to improvise in any style of music, presence and states of flow, developing skill at sitting in not knowing or chaos, developing skills to song-write, speak and sing and co-create with others in creative ways.
Facilitator
Charlotte is a specialist in the areas of body, movement, voice and rhythm. She is a facilitator of experiential education, creative midwifery and mentorship and is the creator of The Musical Body Process, leading groups nationally and internationally since 2003.. Charlotte is a registered Taketina Rhythm Process™️ Facilitator, ISMETA registered Somatic Movement Educator/Therapist, Qigong facilitator, VIT registered school teacher and a Tamalpa Life/Art Process® Practitioner .
As a vocal improvisational artist, musician and composer; Charlotte co-composed and co-created projects such as ‘Murmuring Walk’ (an audio-guided walk at Sanatorium Lake Mt. Macedon) and ‘In Your Arms’ (a guided experience for carers and their pre-crawling babies). Along with this, she has released two albums and is currently completing a third. Charlotte has performed in vocal improvisational ensembles, has led ‘United Women’s Voices’ (supported by Creative Victoria) and performed seasons such as ‘Vocal Digs’ at La Mama Theatre.
