About this Event
Bob Dylan began his illustrious, decades-long career here at Cafe Wha? in 1961 by popping in one night and performing a few Woody Guthrie songs to an enthusiastic crowd that "flipped in excitement." Dylan then began performing regularly at Cafe Wha? and his career took off just a few years later, as he would go on to become one of the most revered songwriters and performers of all time.
We celebrate Dylan's music here where it all began, at Cafe Wha?, tonight featuring Brooklyn-based vocalist, composer and pianist Pete Ayres. Ayres prides himself as a musical chameleon in his songwriting, vocal technique and stage performance. His unique voice with an impeccable tone ranges from smooth and airy to raw and soulful, while his songwriting blends his jazz education with a love for R&B, soul and funk.
